Health and Safety

The importance of health and safety compliance is understood by everybody at P&E Board, and we recognise that it is one of the integral factors in driving the successful operation of our business.

A Principal Priority

To maintain and continuously improve the excellent standards for which we are recognised, we work in partnership with the dedicated health and safety consultancy, Hamilton Deed.

Their knowledgeable team assist us in all areas of health and safety to ensure our workforce are protected. Some of their roles include:

  • Carrying out site inspections and producing regular reports on the safety of our workforce, specific to our trade
  • Advising us on how to adapt to new industry guidance, ensuring our working practices are safe and efficient
  • Producing safety guidance handbooks for our subcontractors
  • Compiling risk and method statements for our sites
  • Engaging in ongoing policy reviews and ensuring their efficient implementation

    Approved Subcontractors

All of our subcontractors are approved and vetted for their health and safety compliance before they work on any of our sites. We have our own internal procedures to ensure that CSCS cards, training schemes and all safety certification is kept up to date.

    Ongoing Guidance

We enforce a daily 'Point of Work Risk Assessment' (PoWRA) to ensure our operatives are working safely at all times. In addition to this, we issue our toolbox talks digitally and distribute regular online health and safety quizzes to ensure operative engagement.

    Evolving Systems

We work with our health and safety consultants to make sure that our safe working practices are revised in line with new HSE guidance, on subjects such as PPE and general site safety.

    Industry Compliance

We believe the construction industry is changing, and health and safety at work is thankfully becoming one of the areas of utmost importance for every single working operation. Therefore we know that for our systems of work to be efficient and distinctive, we must first see that they can be carried out safely.

To demonstrate our attentiveness to health and safety, we have worked hard to achieve certification from various health and safety compliance schemes, such CHAS Premium Plus, CQMS and SMAS/SSIP.

    Looking ahead...

At P&E Board, we truly want to make a difference and be the most professional, quality and reputable drylining contractors around. We won't claim to be perfect, however with the right attitude we believe we can make a lasting impression in the industry and provide excellent work for the foreseeable future.

We would love to bring you along on our journey and we are always pleased to hear from new clients and subcontractors alike.
