Our Services

We offer a wide range of drylining and partitioning systems, all installed in accordance with the specification and industry best practice. We also work closely with British Gypsum and Knauf to ensure the most cost effective solutions are presented to our clients, whilst still meeting the performance criteria specified.

Despite the many different kinds of projects we undertake our core operation will always be screw fixing of plasterboard, which is referred to in the trade as "tacking".

Over the past forty years we have supplied and fixed countless sheets of plasterboard and millions of screws, so we are certainly geared up for volume and efficiency, whilst still maintaining the excellent quality our clients expect.

Gone are the days of fixing plasterboard with a nail and hammer!

Most of the clients we work with build their homes using a traditional blockwork construction method.

Drylining (or "dabbing") is the term used when plasterboard is adhered to the blockwork using dry bagged adhesive products. Being one of the most popular methods of construction, we are well versed with the best practices of the industry manufacturers and NHBC tolerances, ensuring our dabbed walls are straight, true and of superior quality.

As part of the internal construction of new build properties, some of our clients specify that the internal non loadbearing walls dividing up the rooms are constructed using lightweight metal frame partitions.

Using the manufacturers recommended installation method, we can construct a vast range of different wall types, including:

  • Classic "C stud" partitions
  • Independent and fixed wall liner systems
  • Acoustic partitions
  • "I stud" shaft wall systems
  • Fire escape corridors and deflection head details
  • Lift shaft encasement and fire rated riser boxings

In order to provide a suitable background for plasterboard, we often install metal framed suspended ceilings beneath existing floor structures. These can include areas such as precast concrete planks in apartment blocks, as well as false ceilings underneath coach houses, and to provide bespoke recessed ceiling details in inspiring townhouses.

In addition to the above, we can also supply and fix metal grid ceiling systems in stairwells and corridors which either are finished with acoustic plasterboard or perforated ceiling tiles, both of which provide sound absorbing and attenuating properties.

All of our metal framed ceiling systems will be installed in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines, as well as to robust details and the specification of the client.

Plastering, (or "skimming") is unfortunately not as popular as it once was, due simply to the fact that it is more expensive to provide than tape and jointing.

We still maintain that finishing plasterboard with a skim plaster finish is a very robust method of construction, which when applied by one of our skilled plasterers ensures a quality and blemish free finish which lasts long term. The unmistakable deep brown of a wet plaster wall transforms into a light tan finish when dry, perfect to receive paint application.

Taping and jointing is now by far the most popular method in the construction industry for finishing plasterboard. By applying tapes, beads, fillers and scrim to the joints in the plasterboard, the specialist jointing products we use turn an exposed plasterboard wall into a surface ready for a mist coat and a completely painted finish.

We are proud of our tapers and jointers we employ at P&E Board as they all provide an exceptional finish and take pride in their work.

At P&E Board, we work in close partnership with Westway Rendering Solutions. Together we provide an exceptional level of quality, supervision, management and efficiency when it comes to applying external render. Unrivalled in the field, we are confident that the work we apply with their knowledge and expertise, will be some of the best around.

All of our render systems are applied in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to ensure their longevity and pleasant aesthetic appearance.

We can provide a wide range of render systems such as:

  • Through colour monocouche render
  • Thin coat render systems
  • Full mesh, base coat and sealer application to lightweight blocks and porous substrates
  • Ashlar cut incised and detailed render
  • Roughcast textured and smooth scraped finish

We can carry out various different types of screed to suit your specification, however we specialise in two types of floor screed. These being liquid flow screeds and traditional sand and cement fibre screeds.

A large proportion of our sites contain at least one block of apartments, and as such we can provide a competitive price for supplying, pumping and laying fibrescreed to the concrete plank upper floors, including preparing the floor with an acoustic base such as Isorubber or Yelofon HD10.

We can also supply and lay insulation, polythene and radon barriers to ground floors of various unit types, including separate visits to lay insulation and polythene ready for your underfloor heating pipes.

All of our screed is installed in accordance with NHBC guidance and robust details to ensure full compliance with your specification.

Whilst not often specified as standard, we are able to install coving to suit your requirements, which can vary from simple Gyproc cove to intricate and bespoke plaster cornice.

We can also create and install recessed light troughs into ceilings with cornice details around the perimeter for an unique and luxury aesthetic.

As part of the drylining systems we install, we are often appointed to install insulation to roof, wall and partition cavities prior to ensure that the thermal envelope of the building is maintained. This can include foil faced rigid insulation board to areas such as room in roof sloping ceilings, integral garages and independent wall liner systems.

With all of our projects we will install fibreglass mineral wool insulation to internal partitions, pipe casings and low level ceilings. Our detailed quotations to our clients and the specifications issued to our subcontractors both highlight potential cold spots so that all areas made inaccessible after fixing plasterboard is fully insulated.

A breath of fresh air...!

P&E Board are a breath of fresh air compared to other companies claiming to do the same aspect of the build process!

From the very first commencement on our prestige development, their service, quality of work, health and safety and all their other processes - right through to finish - has been second to none.

Gareth and the team at P&E including all their workforce are a pleasure to work with, and are a business which help to showcase the standard to which we all strive, without the unnecessary hassle which unfortunately is commonplace within this industry!
